I hail from Maryland, at least until my youngest daughter graduates. Then we plan on moving to the Asheville NC area.

I found this site while looking for recipes for bacon, which I got into making about a year ago. Once you have homemade bacon, there's no going back. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir on this forum. I was also looking for tips on smoking a ribeye roast for Christmas.

As for the ribeye, I did it on a gas grill with an Amezen smoking tube and apple pellets. The grill was harder than I thought it would be to maintain temperature. I used the gas vice the Webber charcoal as I thought I could more easily maintain a 275 degrees. I think where I screwed up was not using a drip pan and the grease caused flare ups.

Lots of great tips and recipes on this site and I look forward to exploring.

Welcome Devil Dog ! In the future use the Weber, you will be satisfied with the results and no pellets needed.Chunks...

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a nice sunny chilly day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
