90% of my snow has gone over the last few weeks but mother nature decided to give us one last look at winter. (I hope)
Snow today and tomorrow they say.
I put the loader on tractor for first time march 6th for the first time all winter. Have only moved snow twice since, both basically just a couple drifts from all the wind. With the mild weather we did get a couple nice rains. Not very often do we have burn bans in February and March though.
I cleaned the driveway last night, what you see here fell over night. All and all so far we have about 8 inches on the ground. Suppose to taper off by noon today. Our country schools are closed today for a snowday. Used to love those when I was a kid.
Sadly just up the highway someone died in a travic accident so that section of the highway was closed almost all night.
Mother nature taking a hopefully last kick at the cat.
Spring has broken out all over in the Virginia Piedmont. Trees are budding, flowers are starting to bust out...pollen...Had a couple crappy storms this winter. One laid a plate of ice I had to bust up in the driveway with the tractor bucket so we could get out. Sometimes we get nearly no snow, some years its measured in feet. In 4 months it will be African hot...96 degrees in the shade as the song goes.
We had a couple inches the other night. Most will be melted by days end.
We are in drought conditions, they posted a burn ban until Oct 31st. apparently we aren't getting any rain this summer. The ban includes no using grills /smokers on combustible surfaces. $1500 fine. (doesn't affect me as I do on patio or driveway pending wind directions)
