Making sauerkraut

I'm 3 days into the process of making sauerkraut and I started getting a brown sticky substance on the outside of my crock I wipe it off and it comes back in a few hours. The crock is not cracked or leaking  I just don't know what causes this any help would be great Thanks  BTW it is really starting to smell like kraut  thats the good thing

Is it completely submerged in the brine.

It's not uncommon for some old crocks seep brine like that.
