Afternoon folks! Over the last couple months I've been doing some remodeling on the RV to make it cozier. And more enjoyable when you are stuck inside.

How it was before I started. Plenty nice. But we both didn't like the dinette. And didn't use it.

So, bye-bye!

Slid the sofa down to where the dinette used to be.

Put down carpet. And installed two Euro massaging recliners. Also have two of those trays for eating or using laptops.
Next issue was that tiny tv over the counter. 32"of neck cramping viewing angle. Nope.

TV removed and door installed. Added more storage too!

That's better! 50"tv. That can be lowered to a much better angle. I'm using the drop down bunk as a hanger for it. When not using. A just set it in the bunk. As raise it up for storage/travel.
Next is the stove. We don't use the oven so...

Removed the stove. And installed a cook top. Now, what to do with that empty space????

Made a filler piece and.

Installed a fireplace! Will put out some good heat for those cool mornings! Only one more thing to do for awhile. Take out the microwave. And put in a convection microwave. I just threw the filler piece together with popular. I know white birch stained with golden oak is a perfect match, see new door. But that can wait. Just wanted to see how my idea would work. And it came together very nice. Thanks for looking!

You did good! When I had my 5th wheel that dinette was the first thing to go. No-one other than a child could sit at it comfortably. And like you, I moved the 2 person sofa down. Made watching the TV a lot easier. You and the missus are gonna love those changes.

Jim

You did a better job than the manufacturer. Looks nice 👍
Thanks! Yeah. Unless you go real high end. These RVs have something to be desired in build quality as far as materials go. I'm constantly upgrading things as I go. My eventual goal is to upgrade all cabinet fronts to real wood. I'm doing the doors first.

Very cool Steve!! An oasis on wheels!
Thanks Jeff!

Thanks Jim!

I like that a lot, Steve. It's now as it should have been from the manufacturer...
Thanks Charles! I agree. Much more comfortable!

Nice job Steve... I just put new chairs in our RV as well... And it's one of the reasons I hate buying things site unseen (off the internet)... They are junk and uncomfortable as hell...

Steve H Steve H ... I'm interested in the new chairs... I assume they Swivel, Lay back, Footrest kicks out... ? Are they well built or built for RV's.. ?

As for the new cabinet doors.... Are you doing wood framed panels, Or solid wood ?

The reason RV's are built cheap is to cut down on weight ...

Nice remodeling. We have a truck camper that hasn't been used much for the past 10 years.

I disagree. They use particle board for cheapness and stability to resist warping. Particle board is 3x the weight of real wood

Looking great, I plan on replacing the microwave with 1 of the convection units, about the only thing done often in the oven is a pan of biscuits, make sure you post a review on what you get. I'm looking forward to cooler weather. wife will probably have to work 5 more years before she can retire so we might end up down sizing the 28' camper,

I bought these from Bed bath and beyond after seeing them in another rv at a camp site. They are pretty good in quality. They do recline. And come with a separate footrest. Not built for a RV though. Which. In my opinion. Is a plus.
The cabinet doors are framed panels using white birch.

Add ons look great Steve !
Thanks!

Damn Steve looks awesome man! You get extra points from me for watching Joe Dirt and having a handle of Jager on the counter 🤣
Lol! Thanks! Though Ann does the Jager!

Looks great Steve!

Ryan
Thanks Ryan!

Very Nice Steve! It's great to be handy with tools to be able to do stuff like that yourself...you did a great job!
Thanks Keith! I've always enjoyed doing things like this. Plus, it saves $$$

Thanks!

Some nice upgrades! Enjoy! The fire place is cool!
Thank you!

Doors limit size of chairs ect, get good measurements before you order, bad fridges can be a major pain to replace
