Got a bit more work done today. The pipe between the two was a bit more of a bear to get in than I thought. I cut WAY too much material out in a few places (5/16" gaps in two spots - eek!) At long last though, it's in. With all of the gaps and my terrible welding skills, the outside welds look like a dumpster fire. Today I prepped the inside of the seams for welding and, once those are complete, I'll grind and re-weld the outside. I know I'm bad, but they look terrible, LOL. I'd be embarrassed to have anyone see them.
I cut the exhaust end and dry-fit the plenum. Hopefully I'll have time to come to the shop and finish out the welding on the FB to CC tube, finish the legs (adjustable feet and whatnot and start welding on the exhaust. After that it's just the easy stuff left!

PS: I'm super glad that I didn't start making both smokers at the same time. The lessons I'm learning this go around will be VERY helpful when I start the second one!
