Major Winter Storm

Well we're finally out of the negative numbers for temps(it's a whole 1* currently). Now it's just the calm before the storm. Northern Vt is expecting 4-8" overnight. That' will make the morning drive to work fun. Most towns around here are running short on their road salt supplies. It's been some crazy weather.

Stay safe and alert. There are some pretty crazy drivers on the road Three people have died In two different accidents in the last two days up here.

Snowmageddon here in sw mo with calls of 10-18” snow was a dud. Ended up with about 3”.

We got 10 easy . Still snowing a bit , but I think it's done .
Now the shoveling starts .

Didn't have anything when I came home from work at midnight. Woke up to over a inch of sleet and now it's raining. With a temp of 23°.

started a few hours ago s/b 12++. Black soy beans in the instapot for chili tonight and cabbage soup for the weeks lunches.

Still sitting at -16° suppose to get up to -6° . Little to no snow on the ground. Have 12.5# S. Sausage was gonna smoke but the MES 40 might battle trying to keep temps. Tomorrow is suppose to be -11° and high winds, may have to wait till Tuesday to get' r done.

So far this year has been strange .... kinda

We had a couple days off and on at 10 deg. C , that is not the norm.
But lots of cold days . last 3 Mondays been storms ( counting tonight )
Very cold here last 2 day -17 C to -25 C, ( -1.4 F to -13 F ) and windy, so wind chill much more.

Now we are getting the snow and wind tonight on top of the cold
20 - 30 cm or 12" of snow with up to 70 k of wind , another fun Monday coming.

We will not get out of the neg. temps until Feb, day or night

really I love living on the coast for the weather,

Snowed all day yesterday but it's done now, sun is shining. 6" total and very cold!! 8* for a high today and -6 for a low tonight. Highs only in the 10's and 20's for the next week.
Oh well, I didn't have anything else to do and it is January.
I did Instant Pot Salisbury Steak yesterday and I think Pam is going to try to throw together a pot of chilli.

Seems like so many are doing chilli. Makes sense, but my menu plan didn't change much due to the weather. Made collards with ham and low carb cheddar biscuits last night. With the leftover casserole I made the other day and the collards and ham leftovers, I technically dont need to cook for days!

Thankfully the massive snow never materialized here, maybe 6" in the weird drifts. Just kind of a weird storm here. Think I'll wait till tomorrow to see what the snow thrower can do with it. 17 degrees and sleet/freezing rain right now. Be better to run the snow thrower after all that finishes. Supposed to be a balmy 33 degrees tomorrow.

Kids were out there before me , and I got told to go back inside .

I used to get out and blow mine and still should. That said the young neighbor boys love making money so I let them shovel to contribute to their toy guns lol. When it's bet he their skill their dad our he's in with his blower. Hell I may not even get mine out this year.

We got all sleet and lots of it. Boat houses are collapsing because of the weight on the roofs at the lake. My big patio roof sagging. Just lifting the lid on big garbage can was a chore. Man that stuff is heavy.
