The MailBox Mod Rocks!

I finally did the mailbox mod on my MES 30 Gen1. I have had the old girl for years and it is a really great little smoker.

But darn near every time the smoker would get over 230 my AMZNPS would catch fire, this is the fix for that!

I also recently bought an Auber PID which has greatly improved the temperature fluctuations.

Got a mailbox off eBay for $16 bucks.

Built some legs from some old car trim.

I already had a 3” flex hose and high temp silicone. Had these old 3 ½” turndowns from a hotrod exhaust project that I never used.

When testing I put probes near each of the 4 walls and used the iGrill to monitor temps, not too bad.

TBS - She is really cruising along now!

This looks awesome. Thanks for providing photographic validation for my decision not to build a mailbox mod for my MES 30 Gen 1. I lack both some of the tools and most of the workshop ability for most projects like this. But it's great seeing how you and others can easily do it.
