Finally have some time to breakout the new stuffer...
Got it all set up and sitting on the counter... My work space on the counter goes from left (the end) to right (into a corner)... With the stuffer sitting with it's back to the left (end of counter) and tube facing right, this puts the controls on the backside of the unit ... HMMMmmmm ...
Got to looking and thinking how can I flip it around to put the controls facing me... I'm not one to leave things alone (stock) when I get a new toy so lets start moding it... So lets take the base off and spin it around 180 degrees so then the can will be facing to the right when the controls are facing me... Did that then the tabs on the can would not go into the brackets on each side... OK... Lets take it back apart and spin those too... For it to work right you have to not only spin them 180 degrees, But you also have to swap them from side to side... Got to say... It works great that way... The motor isn't really in the way...
Ease of use... I didn't know how to act without having to crank on a handle... TWO hands working the business end of the stuffer... stuffed about 33 lbs through the half inch tube, which by the way is PERFECT for sliding the whole tube of 19mm collagen casings on it.. With the old hand crank 5lb it would took me most of the morning to do 33 lbs... With the new one I was done stuffing and hanging/cooking in the smokehouse by 11 AM ...
I did have some blow by (the plunger/o-ring) in the same spot a couple of times... I was getting the hang of it with speed set at or just a hair above the first line on the dial... Kinda wishing the foot pedal would control the speed...
Still have another 25 lbs to stuff yet... we'll see how it goes...
