lump charcoal

Well after all the searching I've done to try to find R.O. lump charcoal. I think I may have pulled through. I went to my local hardware store & talked to them their warehouse has some & they can get me some by Friday. Can't hardly wait. Also while searching at the hardware store on their computer they found lump charcoal made by kingsford called charwood. made from 100% Argentinean kiln-dried uprocessed hardwood. Has anyone ever heard of this or used it. Thanks everyones help.

I've used both and in my opinion the RO is far superior. The Kingsford charwood has many smaller pieces and doesn't burn up as completely. it also sparks and pops more.

There are several differentt places RO gets their charcoal. Try to get the made in USA type, it seems to be the best.

After my local wally world ran out of RO I called several times asking for them to see if it was in stock (the bag doesn't say "Lump" on it , just "100% natural wood charcoal " ) Each time they said they were out of stock I told them that was the only charcoal I buy from thier store , then I "mentioned" that I go through several hundred #s each summer and please let your manager know ( I may have exagerated , a lot ) . But they got it in

Have 11 bags now and when I get down to my last 6 or 7 , I'll be checking for more and calling if it's out of stock again.

It's allways fun to be at the checkout and say " Hey look , I found something made in the US of A in Wallmart

Try to locate some Ozark Oak if you can. If you find some best choice, It's the same lump in a different bag.

Hey 1894 I also found something made in the U.S.A. at wally world. I was in the camping section looking around saw a set of cast iron pan & 5qt pot the pan doubled as a lid so I had to buy it. pretty good bargin.under $20 I think.

As was posted earlier, Kingsford lump is full of small pieces, pops to much and doesn't burn as hot or thoroughly. You could almost do beeter than them in my opinion by going to a park and picking up twigs.
