I only buy 100% hickory, as other pellets just don't give me enough smoke flavor. Most pellet grills don't produce overpowering smoke flavor. I'd bet 99% of the population could not tell you which wood species you burned in a pellet grill.

yeah that's what i figured, because i much prefer hickory wood chunks over apple chunks due to the greater smoke flavor, not because i can actually taste the difference. i guess i'll pass on the 100% cherry then.

Love Lumber Jack, it's all I use.

Lumberjack is good. Especially at the price point that it is, even when not on sale.

I picked up 10 bags of Comp Blend from Rural King about a week ago, then went back and intended to get 10 more bags, but they only had 9.

I ended up with 19 20lb bags, for about $95.00 plus tax.

With chunks or logs, it has been my experience, that nut woods like hickory, pecan, tend to give off a stronger smoke than fruit woods like apple and peach.
