so i decided to do a 10.5# pork butt for free UFC saturday. all was going good on startup, got her rubbed down and smoker ready, i decided to use my little brinkmann red electric for this occasion, as i would be doing other things thruout the day and didnt want to tend to it soo much. i chose to use pecan and mesquite this time. never used pecan, so it was an adventure to say the least. i ran this bad boy for a long long long time....it decided to get super windy
...and like a champ i slugged it out with the wind for 12.5hrs..haha dropping temps sometimes to 225 all the way down to 200 at sometimes and struggled to get it back up but i stuck it out as long as i could..then finally said it was time to move it over to the brinkmann 2 burner grill (cuz im ANTI-OVEN)..haha...and finished her off after the dreaded stall for 1.5 hrs...i ended up pulling her when she felt just right, which was at 203*....finally into her igloo wrapped tightly in HD foil. and voila!!!...she was like spaghetti! took me using 2 little forks and pressing quickly on her to make her fall apart!
now for the Q-View!! (I didnt take any pics before going on because i was rushing to get this thing on before 8am, and i didnt get any during smoking, because we all know the saying,haha)sorry for rambling!!..haha. ENJOI, I KNOW WE DID!
thanks kat! :) ol' red works good but i was fighting icey air all of a sudden and then hard gusts of wind that would not stop shifting....drove me insane!
thanks frosty! i thought i had lost it for a while there...i had my fingers crossed, especially at hour 12 when she went into the stall for an hour n half. kid was getting cranky and wife was thinking about leaving me...hahaha...j/k! she knows perfection takes patience.
thanks RED! it was/and still is mighty tasty and very juicy still. i had a sandwich for lunch today. everyone dropped their ham and cheeses when i brought out the monster. hehehe im evil!
