looking for new rubs

Really looking to try out some new rubs.. Doing spare ribs this weekend and I've always used the grill mates sweet and smokey.. Do any of you have suggestions

If you are looking for commercial rubs, check out Dizzy Pig.  I have read a lot of good things about them and just got some as a gift.

Bass Pro has a mustard pork rub that they sell but i cannot remember the name. Its good.

Also jeff's rub on this site is great

Google Mike Mills Magic Rub Recipe. That's what I use. I changed it to use brown sugar and not regular sugar. Excellent rub

Buy "Jeff's Naked Rub" Recipe".  Once you get the recipe you can make copies and give it to all of your friends.  I double the recipe and have plenty.  You will need to dry the brown sugar or the rub is lumpy.  I dry it by using a cookie sheet in the convection oven, about 175 degrees, for 20 minutes.  The sugar comes out all stuck together, so I take a rolling pin and break it up.  It then goes under the heat lamp for a couple of hours.  I then run it through the food processor.  You can then mix the rest of the ingredients.  It is a great recipe because it doesn't have as much salt as other rubs.

Here's the recipe for the rub I made today for the pork shoulder I'm gonna smoke in the morning. The rub had an awesome color and smell to it once I got it mixed up, and I think it's going to be awesome.

This is the first time using this rub recipe, and the first time I'm smoking a pork shoulder, so wish me luck.

1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup paprika
1 TB chili powder
1 TB garlic powder
1 TB onion powder
1 TB salt
1/2 TB pepper
1/2 TB cocoa
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp cayenne powder
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp crushed rosemary
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ginger

Might be a little late but this is what I use. Not to spicy and a little sweet. It's a pretty simple rub.
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Works out great with a sweet sauce.
