Hello everyone, I’ve decided to try an offset, and a neighbor, who has had a ridiculous number of smokers swears by his Shirley. I’m looking for a used 24X36, and I'm located in south Louisiana But traveling some distance isn’t a problem. If anyone has such a cooker they’re wanting to part with, please let me know.

Robert

The best place to find these is the Shirley buy and sale group on Facebook.

Legendary Services delivers most Shirley's; he'll pick up and deliver used ones as well. If you're not in a hurry so that he can do the pick up during one of his delivery runs, the cost won't be too bad.

Thanks for the response, I posted on that group right before I posted here. Hopefully it won’t take too long to find one.

Just a private shipping service?

Not sure what that means; I think it's a one man (Kevin White) and one dog operation with a big pickup truck and a big trailer. Kevin delivers Shirley's and other large items all over the country with care you don't get with the common LTL carriers. He also is a Shirley customer who works closely with the Shirley family and goes over the smoker with the customer with each delivery. I found him really good to work with.

Robert, I wanted to check in on your search for a Shirley. I may have a connection or two here in Tuscaloosa, AL that could be willing to part ways with one of their rigs seeing how they have more than one.

As it relates to a Shirley cooker, I run a 24"x65" trailer model with a mounted 4.5 gallon Bayou Classic fryer and a fold down double burner with a griddle attachment. I have found that a Shirley is one of the more true to temp cookers I have ever used. I've cooked on Black Warrior Smokers, Lang (which are dang near equal to a Shirley), Lone Star and a few homemade. I found myself always leaning back to Shirley so that is what I bought.

I dont have one as yet. Kevin White has promised me one, but it hasnt happened yet. I’m only interested in a 24X36, so if you know of one, im interested.

Sorry, he only has his two monster sized trailer rigs left, he just sold his 24x36 patio model last month. I'll keep an eye out for sure.
