Hi all,
I'm Jeff from Ontario, Canada.
I've been smoking for the past 3 years and have used this site many times to get amazing tips and recipes.
I figured I should finally join and either get more information from y'all or help give information to newbies.
I have been using a Centro Electric Smoker and it lasted almost 3 full years with a lot of use (Just died 2 days ago). I was very happy with it because it was easy to learn on and it was very inexpensive and provided lots of great food. I typical did briskets, pork shoulders, ribs and chicken.
I have just recently tried cold smoking (with a small homemade charcoal starter/smoker box contraption) cheese. Also just began smoking sausages as I got a new grinder/stuffer and curing salts for Christmas.
My priority right now is finding a smoker that fits my needs. Room is an issue so I can't have a big unit. Within 2 years I will probably live in a bigger property in the country with lots of space. The dream then is to build something very large and permanent then.
I will pour through the forums looking for tips and advice on smoker selection and maybe even consider building a small unit.
I'm looking forward to sharing my successes and failures with everyone as I navigate my way through the fine world of food smoking.
Cheers!
Jeff
