Had to go on business three years consecutive.....one year was two separate two week stretches......After a few days it's " Do we have to go out to dinner and gamble again?" lol.............I think we paid for some of the Bellagio chandeliers in slots.
Anyway, if you like the "hawaiian fusion" thing there's a price fixe menu at Roy's that we went crazy over......Roy Yamiguchi is a famous Hawaiian that now has several restaurants but the food and the sake selection is to die for.
For Mexican food, theres a place called cozymels that was good along with quite the marguerita menu and great salsa.
If you can spring for it, absolutely have a seven or eight course dinner at the Stratosphere. They give a different glass of wine with each course and the lobster raviolis and my first taste of quail was superb.
Another great dinner was the Golden Nugget, one of the only leftovers from the ratpack days, now in a seedier part of town but once inside you'll never know due to the great service, the Sinatra feel and the pictures of old vegas everywhere. Steaks are the protocol here.
Other than that I can tell you that shopping on the outskirts of town is interesting and you can always take a bus trip to the hoover dam.
If this is your first trip it's always exciting to tour the various casinos even if you're not gambling.....oh and if you're a stoned crab eater, Joe's Crab at Caesars is pricey but delicious.
My favorite hotel is Paris, probably because the buffet was outstanding and we were allowed to loiter as long as it took to get our share of vittles.
Go have a good time at Jimmy Buffets Margueritaville, the nachos are served "volcano" style and the burgers are remarkable...
Great view of the strip if you're willing to wait a bit in line to get rooftop dining.
Have fun and cheer up, they could have picked Buffalo....then you'd have to come and hang with me and eat barbecue all week......
