Well we have another 36000 without power here in the Derby city this morning after the wind storm went through here yesterday and last night. This is getting to be a little much after we had the remnant's of hurricane Ike in September and the ice storm a week ago and now this.
But life is great.

wow i thought we had it tough last yaer we had a severe ice storm last year and then a tornado in the summer and was without power both times but when you get it back to back thats the s***s

Yep it has been bad here. We were the lucky ones and only went without power for 2 days.

I live St Matthews and We didn't loose power this time, had a few flickers though. We had so much ice damage and Hurricane Ike damage that I think that is why we were spared on this windstorm. I lost my smoker in Hurricane Ike

but am looking to do a very nice upgrade this spring

.

If anyone knows of a good deal on a smoker with side fire box, let me know. I have been looking at 20" RD Special Marshal Backyard Smoker and also a 20" trailer mounted smoker, so anything in that range would be great.

Yeah it's been a weird weather pattern for sure. Ice storm then a week later it's 65 degrees and 50 - 60 mph winds. We didn't lose power this time for more than a few minutes but man it was hairy driving around in the Sprinter van. Hope everyone stays safe. BTW I have been stocking up on some wood. Seems it's laying around EVERYWHERE.

not nearly as bad here in BG. We were kinda right on the edge of it. I lost a lot of tree limbs but nothing like it was north of here.

I haven't picked up any good stuff yet. I was thinking of getting some pear wood though. Seems like they were all destroyed.

Where's the pear wood at? Is it free for the taking?

So far i've picked up oak, cherry, hickory, apple, and maple.

Most of the pear trees I've seen down are Bradford Pears. I don't think they'd be too good for smoking.
