I'm still a noob, but I'm very pleased with the results of the 17lb turkey I just smoked.  I had it in a brine for 24 hours and injected it before smoking.  Nothing too fancy, but boy was it good!  Very moist & tender.  Took just under 9hrs running at around 230 degrees.

Looks like an old timer smoked that bird!  Very nice for your first.

Beautiful color as well, what wood did you use?

No, we're going away for Christmas, next time I will probably opt for a little smaller bird.

I usually smoke 12 to 14 lbs and have had three great birds!  I wanted to go a bit larger next time.
