I wasn't sure if the first picture showed up. This is my ugly drum smoker. So far all I have been able to do is season it. Hopefully will get to try something in it soon.

Man that is one good looking UDS!

I don't think I would want to get it dirty!

Very nicely done!

Thank you both. I tend to get carried away when I make stuff.

Awesome UDS. I have been looking at these on this site as well as others including Pinterest and YouTube.

I am definitely catching the bug to make one of these. Presently I have a MES 40 which I am happy with. I think adding a UDS to my cooking/smoking arsenal would be a lot of fun. Might be easier to use, especially in the clean up, in the winter over the MES.

Just a few questions. When you first began you project, in your search for a drum, did you get used, reconditioned or new?

Did you burn out the drum or use a weed burner?

The plague on the front of your burner, where did you get it or did you design and make it yourself? I am looking for something related to a sports theme.

I am sure I can keep on thinking of questions, any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I got a used drum from my work. I burnt a Few pallets in in and then I sand blasted inside and out. As for the pic on the front that is a metal sign I picked up at the flea market. I left an air gap inbetween so it don't get hot.

Can I ask what brand or type of paint you bought? Is is available in hardware stores?
