What is it with all the junk that is being sold now-a-days? Ernie, my loving wife, has bought lighters from damn near every store we frequent...most of them are not refillable...and the ones that are after 10-15 lights no longer produce enough spark to light. Anybody have any suggestions? Would like to see if we could find one that is real thinner than the normal ones, Mic etc. We have an Okeefe & Merritt range in the house. Being that it is hooked to a propane tank we don't have pilot light on it. And lighting the thing with the long wooden matches is a bit challenging...to put it politely.

I have this Scripto I got on a camping trip in '05 or '06. It's not refillable but seems to have the worlds largest butane reservoir, as it still shows about half full. It's piezo ignition and still produces sufficient spark. I don't use it every day, but every every time I use the smoker or build a campfire I do. We also use it fairly regularly to light candles. It has a thinner tip which fits into lanterns and stoves more easily.

I don't know how much trouble it would be. But on our propane stove and also on the out side grill has electric lighters. Maybe you could install something like that. CF

I go drilling holes in her antique stove it won't be the only thing getting holes drilled in it. I found a refillable Bernzomatic today. When I am on my laptop later will post a link...just in case anyone is interested....
