Well I think it's official. My wife now thinks I am a junk collector. Last week I brought home all that sheet metal, and today I scored 4-60 gallon plastic drums with sealed lids. She asked me if it was for barrel racing, LOL. The plastic that gets injected into the molds we build get shipped in these. So they where free for the taking.
I plan to store my seasoned woods for smoking in them. One for hickory, one for cherry and so on. This way, they will all be seperated and labelled.
Would post pics but no camera at this time.
Andy.

I think we all have a bit of junk collector in us. Good find on the barrels. Get some pics when you can and show us how they are being used.

great stoarge containers Andy-had to grin for a second thinking. a few UDS's. lol.

andy make sure the drums are vented if they sit out side as they will make their own h20 found out the hard way stored some hard wood scraps in one in 2 weeks they were floating aginst the lid.

Thanks for the tip Terry. I may stack them in one of the 2 sheds, but more than likely not.
Andy.

Andy, Make sure to drill several vent holes for air circulation. And turn your supply regularly or the stuff that stays on the bottom too long will begin to rot.

Cheers,
Brian

Nice way to store your smokin' stuff. Like most have said... keep the air circulating.

here are the pics of the plastic barrels.

Nice shop Andy! Goin to try and get mine cleaned out this summer. Need to get some room to store smokin wood too. Don't have no barrels but think I'm gonna store mine in ventilated plastic tubs.

That was a cool score though!

Wait til you what I"m going to do to vent these bad boys. Not going to drill holes in them. Will post pics when they are ready.
Andy.

Nope there will be no added holes into these barrels. Only because I may get tired of smoking and won't need them to hold wood any more. Then they would be useless. NAAAA that will never happen.
I will try to fix one up during the week.
Andy.
