Dude that’s fine tri tip. I hope that my tri tip will be at least as good as that tomorrow. Looks like a perfect medium rare. Gotta love a perfect tri tip!

George
Thanks George, this recipe was a nice change from our normal Santa Maria style

Curious if that expresso flavour came through. I've read alot about coffee flavouring in BBQ, but as I'm not a huge coffee drinker I never thought about giving it a whirl. On the other hand -every one- I know likes it, so maybe I could do some chuck roast like this..

Now I'm hungry. LOL

Tom, the coffee flavor is kind of hard to explain. It was there but not over powering. I will use less Garlic next time and I think the coffee flavor will be more of the front runner. I found my coffe seasoning at Trader Joe’s and Jeff’s brine was the perfect pairing.

Great looking plate Doug - that TT looks spot on.

Point for sure.

Thanks Chris, next time I’m going to split the smoke time with much hotter temps to get a nice char on the outside. Tri Tip get to temp so fast there not much time for the bark to set up at 225
