i use old car tires and formaldehyde to start the fire..the tires smell good and burn for hours....

On a sad side note, in 30 some odd years of camping and picnics and outdoor cooking I have seen many near misses with lighter fluid a few lost hair episodes and two major accidents that required a hospital. Lighter fluid is evil stuff, I think that the very existance of the stuff makes people stupid. Nevermind the smell and taste, I have stood right there, told idiots not to squirt the stuff on semi lit charcoal and had full grown adults squirt the fluid on the fire anyways. Unbelievable.
