Dang, that sure brings back memories!
I played the video 3 times, and that song is going on my playlist!
Thanks for posting it FB!

This song was a product of the 55 mph speed limit the Fed govt put in place due to our " energy crisis " . Truckers started using CB radios so they could break the limit. They had money on the line, not only paying a higher price for fuel but it took them longer to make a run.

Never paid any attention to hidden messages in the song.
I used to hear it played many times a night on local radio station in October. That is our "campaign" to harvest sugar beets with hundreds of trucks on the roads. Still played, but I got moved to daylight shift.

Went back and read through this thread again... funny thing, had two Peterbuilts hauling my pigs yesterday again too! But babies this time.
Still love the song!
Caught part of an interview on the Today show yesterday... with four veterans that were part of the invasion... was neat. And full of wisdom.

That really brings back a lot of memories. I still remember my first C.B. radio, a 23 channel Johnson Messenger 123a. I bought a converter and a Starduster Ground Plane and used it as a base and, with a quick release mount, in my truck. At 5 watts, it was good for local communications. Then in 1977 along came the FCC approval for 40 channels and sideband. My first real base station was a President Washington which I had tuned for up to 27.805MHz, or channel 80. That, a KW 1000 watt linear amp, a D104 power mic, and a set of stacked Moonraker 4's on a Ham II rotor being fed through Belden 8214 coax and I could talk skip all around the world. Always talked on the flat side and LSB, for those that know...:emoji_wink: I had a logbook, which has long since disappeared, and I had talked to someone, supposedly, in about 75 different countries. Great memories from a more innocent time and the original social media. I could go on and on and on about it...
I remember those days well. Did you ever talk to the Little Red Wagon? If you did you were talking 1/2 way around the world. I got to him one time. How great that was.

Bowhunter was my handle back then.
