Is this oak?

Hey guys, I'm new here just posted my first post yesterday and just wanted to get a verification of anybody could help me here to figure out if the wood I actually bought from the source I got it from is oak, I have attached the picture. Thanks.

I'm no wood expert, but it looks like it to me.

Oak will have a distinct grain, some times on the outside under the bark. It appears as a lot of small 1/4" long lines. Its different from any other wood.

I just got a chisel and removed a little bit of it and it definitely has those markings.

Of all the different types I couldn't tell ya... But YES.. It is oak ...
