Never cooked them or saw them in any markets I've gone too... But have eaten beef and pig cheeks before and they are really delicious. My vote it to buy them and do some research!
Anything under $2/lb is always worth experimenting with! I've got jowl bacon from my butchered hog, but not tried it yet. I've seen cooking shows where they rave about jowl bacon, but no experience for me yet......
