Is it ok to use aluminum in smoker?

aluminum what or for what, I use the throw away alum pans on occasion I figure if they are save in an oven should be ok in the smoker

I wouldn't make a firebox out of it, but for everything else sure.

I made an aluminum alloy casting using my charcoal basket. Sooo... stick with steel in the firebox ;{)
