I just got this smoker. It has an internal firebox. I've never seen one like this. Give me some experienced opinions. It was free.

Hard to beat free.

A couple of old friends of mine each had a pit without a firebox. Both were old tanks and the fire was built in the open in one end of the cooker. They both cooked food.

A couple of eyeball observations. The exhaust stack looks a bit small and so does the holes from the firebox to the cook chamber But you're getting a lot of heat transfer from the firebox so may not need as much airflow.

Worse come to worst you have something to work with. If it doesn't work satisfactorily now a new external firebox and maybe a bit larger stack should put you in business.

1MoFo has you covered... More diameter on the stack, bigger opening FB to Cc opening,, Get rid of the "T" and any elbows in the exhaust also.... The exhaust should be ~35" above the CC...
