I got this inkbird irf4s thermo

Manual states charging with usb
Charging port is definitely USB-C
I am trying different cables and outlets but it wont charge, transmitter or receiver.

What do i do wrong?

Is it possible you got a faulty one? Normally just plug them in and they start charging. I know not much help!

All my InkBird gadgets are just plug in to charge. No extra steps involved. If you did all the things you already did. And it still won't charge. Then I'd say it went belly up.
How old is it?
Does it show a battery status on the screen?

I got it 02/2022. Kept indoors. Actually used it very little , battery held from factory.
Recently forgot to turn off the transmitter and its on a last bar. Decided to charge. Plugged in - nothing. Plugged in receiver. Same. Nothing.

Different cables. Different outlets nothing.
What puzzles me is the fact both units won’t charge. Somewhat unlikely for both to go down at the same time.

I will get new one. Just unusual

Same cable is charging my ipad no problem

Gimme a sec to get a pic of the correct charger. Iphone is the same size but it isn't for inkbirds

This is the correct charger. iPhone is a similar size but won't work on an inkbird

Stupid question. Did you try the cord that came with it?

That is the root of my problem. Original cable is somewhere, i dont know where. I assumed its a regular C cable.

Eta Anyone knows what is this cable designation?

No problem bud it's an odd cable. Doesn't fit any other electronics but universal for all my inkbirds. USB-B Micro

Like Jake said the I phone is different , but if you have Samsung with the type C it should work .

I stand corrected . Just compared to my Samsung and it's different . That's what I get for assuming .

Believe it or not

Just now I was going through cables again and found one C cable and it works!
I plugged it in , unit turned on with bolt sign above battery.
Yes!!!

There are different types of cables. Which I found the hard way in the past. Some are dedicated file transfer. And some are just for charging. And some that do both. Had a heck of a time getting cables for a drone.

Glad you found it! It's easy to misplace cords when you don't use them often.
