my Inkbirdbbq Inkbirdbbq bird I-BBQ-4-T has failed yet again. This time it will not charge. The last one I got(before this one) had a near fire and the charging plug melted. I jumped through hoops with their supposed support team, until i got frustrated and just bought another. This one was bought on 10/9/2023 and I don't know what a warranty is or what tap-dance I need to do for a remedy. I have promoted Inkbirdbbq Inkbirdbbq across multiple cooking blogs and forums.
I' beginning to lose faith and have to decide a next step. any advice appreciated. Might be time to broadcast issues across other cooking forums and X. Thanks

I wish you luck. They offered me a discount on buying a new one when mine gave up just over a year old and only used about 4 times. It was a battery issue with mine. I decided to not waste anymore money on something they wont back up and go another route. I didnt like it either due to connectivity issues I had everytime I tried to use it. I went with the ThermoWorks Signals. I am waiting to see how their new RFX wireless performs and if they have a Turkey Day sale on it. I also have the ThermaQ2 I use on big cooks but it doesnt transmit to phone or base hub. I have two of their original themapens and one of the thermapen one which is quite a bit better than them. Their customer service is top notch and they stand behind their products.

This is exactly why Myself, and others, use Thermoworks... Product and customer service is #1... Inkbird,in my opinion, is considered seconds...

So do yourself a favor and go HERE ...

I use the Smoke and also have 2 of the thermopens
dug this out from under bbq bar. 5 years old original AAA battery,
at least i can do a batch of pastrami tgis weekend. its alittle dirty. IMG_5377.JPG

Too bad they're not a sponsor anymore.
I agree . We don't know what all goes on behind the curtain , but seemed Inkbird shows up . Undercuts prices with some inferior some not products . People rush to the price point ( I understand some need that option ) and Thermopro goes away . Can't blame them I guess .
I've supported them both . TP-20 . TP-08 , an instant read , and now a temp spike .
I have an instant read from Ink bird , and a IBT-4XS . They all work as they should .

Thermoworks Signals , Thermapen 1 , 2 Thermopops and a dash .
Huge upgrade in quality and function with the Thermoworks products .

update, as a last ditch attempt I pulled out a slightly higher voltage old Samsung wall wart and plugged it into the I BBQ-4-T. after a few minutes it started blinking in charge mode and did , in fact charge. I was chastised by Inkbird support when my first one melted, for using my multi-bank higher voltage charger on the the first I BBQ-4-T which melted it. I have a 6 bank charger since I have two iphones, two ipads, and a derelict android tablet. Works amazingly on all my other devices, but not allowed on Inkbird. I had been relegated to using the usb voltage from my laptop to charge the I BBQ-4-T. if it makes it through my pastrami cook on Saturday, I'll shut up and go away.

I couldn't agree more Rich! I had the TP-20 and Mk4 instant read from ThermoPro for years now without a single problem, got new wired probes from Amazon when I needed them for the TP-20. The TempSpike XR worked flawlessly, I'm done wasting dough on junk that doesn't work. There was none of this hi-teck crap when i got my first Weber kettle in 1977, a miracle i didn't starve to death. I've had nothing but excellent service and customer service from ThermoPro. Replaced 2 out of warranty units with new ones. No questions asked.
Also have an Inkbird handheld but it doesn't get much use.

I have also had good luck with some Inkbird products but my thermapen is light years ahead and better quality. USA vs China I guess. The Inkbird was cheaper but grandpa taught me to buy USA and it usually is worth the extra $ I just didn’t always listen.. I guess I should have

I thought I killed my IBBQ-4 and my lithium jump pac after hooking them up to the 45W charger that came with my new phone last year. Weird that they don't like fast charging.

I don't do inkbird any more. I cut bait and walked away a couple of years ago. They do make good gifts though, if it's the thought that counts.

I agree with Thermoworks only! they make the best thermometers I have ever used. I have several and love them all. used them for decades with zero fails.
