Don't listen to the media downers. I had ZERO interest in seeing Dial of Destiny after the Crystal Skull mess, but my wife really wanted to see it, so we did.

I gotta tell you, it was fun. Sure, it was a lot of shoot 'em up and totally implausible scenes, like diving to 300' on a hooka rig, then zipping back to the surface in less than a minute, but it was good for a chuckle.

Anyway, if you're on the fence, see it on a big screen, like XD or Imax. We enjoyed it.

I'm so glad I got over the "Gotta go see XYZ movie as soon as it hits theaters" hysteria years ago. I think the last was around 8 years ago. I'm sure I'll watch this latest Indiana Jones movie when it hits the streaming services because well, you kinda have to if you grew up watching those movies. Raiders is still one of my favorite movies that I'll never get tired of watching. Star Wars is the same with me, I've watching every one, and all of the spin offs. To be honest, I would have been completely happy if there were no more Star Wars after Return of the Jedi, and no more Indy movies past The Last Crusade. They start ruining the brand by milking these things too much. I guess in 20 years they'll be pulling Tom Cruise out of the old folks home to fly the latest fighter and save the planet!

Part of the fun was the fact it was the first theater movie we'd been to since the shutdown. Plus, it was a newer theater installed where a Sears store shutdown. Massive recliner seats that were very comfortable. Huge high-def screen.

D of D is absolutely NOT a blockbuster, but the morsels they put in the movie from the previous versions were fun to find. We lable movies WOW, tear-jerkers, fun, or a waste of money. D of D was fun.

Some movies you just gotta see on the big screen. Top Gun 2 being one of them. The new Indiana Jones I think going to be one of those also.
and the viewing environment in theaters are worlds apart from what they used to be. We hadnt been to a movie for years before TG came out. We were blown away by the advances in the video and sound systems. And those lazy boy like seats…..Oh man!

I've read that theaters have not yet recovered from the past few years. That was obvious when we went from "Let's go see D of D" to sitting in the theater in great seats in less than 45 minutes. A few years ago, when ticket prices approached $20 each, we rarely went to the movies. Studio Movie Grill became our date place due to restaurant food, adult drinks, comfortable recliners and HD screens. I'm glad other theater chains have jumped on that train.

Oppenheimer is next on our theater viewing list.

My kids are into going to the movies . When the lock down hit they bought some package that was pre paid tickets , a cup and a popcorn bucket . Idea is when things opened up , you get to see a movie and get your snacks .
So they went today , and I heard them talking that they would just pay even though they had the passes . Good for them .

When my kids were young, they bought a pizza and smuggled it in the the theater. Haha
I make my wife bring her big purse when we go to the movies.
Inside is 2 Coor's Banquet beers and a small bottle of wine for her, plus a few snacks.

Tue's nights are $6.00 movies at the local IMAX movie house, we'll go check it out this week.
