Looking at the ME 30 or 40; leaning towards the 30 so I have more $$$ to spend on supplies. Will I feel like the 30 is too small? Can I do full racks of spares and turkeys in it?

Also I saw the ME 30 with the digital thermometer built in on some models. Is it worth the extra for that or do you use a separate digital thermometer for temp control?

Just don't do what I did:

I paid $179 for an MES 30, to save money.

Then I had to cut ribs in half, and I could only put 7 pounds of unstuffed Beef sticks in.

So I paid another $349 for an MES 40----I love it !!!!

So I ended up laying out a total of $528, because I thought I was saving $$$

Also: All MES have Digital controls & remote control. The remote control works Great, but you will want to get a wireless therm, like the Maverick ET 732.

I agree with Bear and Mule...I went with the MES 40 right out of the gate and have not regretted it at all. Even with just 2 of us, I make loads of sausage, snack sticks etc and the extra room is great.
