I'M HOME!!!!

I wanted to post a quick note to say I am home. All evacuations for my area have been lifted and the Highway is open in both directions. 

I got home about an hour ago and everything is just as I left it...

Many thanks to everyone for their prayers and thoughts while this was going on. Now I'm trying to get things put away and restore some bit of normalcy!

Thanks everyone! It was good to come home and find everything the way I left it. We really thought the bears would have had a heyday around here but we lucked out. Rock kept telling me that Yogi was sitting on the front porch waiting for me to get home and smoke something. Bears are over running the small town southeast of us. All power stayed on, another good thing. 

I feel for those that did return to a home and found it looted...and for some they won't be able to return for another 4-6 weeks, then sadly there are those that have nothing left. 

Rock won't be home until tomorrow night, but I am smoking something on Wednesday!!!!! As an afterthought, I took a couple frozen packages of pulled pork, some smoked ham and some smoked sliced pork...you know what we ate!!!!

These are the unsung heroes and I am indebted to them for their service!

Volunteer firefighters from a town Southeast of me...they stayed and they fought to keep this monster from crossing the main highway.

Which in turn saved Cascade, Chipita Park, Green Mountain Falls, Crystola and Woodland Park!!!!!! 

When the main highway isn't as crazy, I want to smoke some food for the volunteer firefighters in these towns.

That's the least I could do, as well as make cash donations to their departments.
