For those of you that didn't know Halfsmoked, he was a true Master of the Pit, a Southern Gentleman, Father, Husband, community fundraiser, a Friend of many of us, and he will be missed by a great number of folks far and wide. He always had a humorous story or joke to tell, and a word of encouragement if you think you did something wrong with food. "It'll turn out better then you think."

Godspeed Warren.. give Sharon a hug when you see her, and have some Orange Dreamsickle cake ready when we meet again. Damn, that stuff was good!

This right here. Met him and Sharon many times. He also organized the Pa gatherings that we had.

Dang. I was just asking Adam about him not long ago.

Thanks for the update and praying for his family

Sad news here… I have thought about Warren many times in his absence here at SMF. Though I never had the pleasure to meet him face to face… I could instantly tell thru the PM’s we exchanged that he was just a top notch guy, had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. I will for sure miss our PM back and forth.

Just a quick story about Warren. I offered to send him some elk jerky as he’d said he had never tried any. Sent him some and he PM me back a while after saying he apologized cause he’d set it in his camper window and forgot about it. He said, Justin do you think it’s still good, it’s been in there for a while now and he again apologized. I told him, Warren it’s not worth risking it… be making another batch here soon and I’ll send you some fresh jerky. Being Warren, well thank you I appreciate it very much. What can I do for you Justin? I said you just get the elk jerky and enjoy it, no camper windows Warren (was a joke and he knew that… laughed back). Again, being him I get a call from the wife a few weeks later saying you have a package?! What, don’t recall ordering anything?! Well, Warren had his cheeses he delivered and was very proud of those… he sent me some and I’ll say to this day… not sure I’ve tasted any better than that. Just thought I’d share.

Warren, my friend… you are now at peace. To his fam and those left behind that knew him, my condolences, thoughts and prayers for your comfort in mourning a big loss.
