Well, I finally finished my "Mona Lisa," also known as my most recent UDS build and not a moment too soon. I've got to smoke two huge Boston butts tomorrow night and this will be first true test right out of the gate. I've built a UDS in the past, but this is my first attempt at a "high tech" UDS, if such a thing exists. I'm using the Thermoworks Billows, sorry guys, I chickened out with building my own PID controller. Anyway, just thought I would post a picture of what I was asking all those questions about. It took me way too long, but you know how life goes sometimes. Special "shout-out" and thank you to Fraser for all his help and guidance with my "high tech" UDS.

Looks good how did your smoke go?

Looks good. Nice work. You will have to let us all know how well it performed with the billows kit installed.

I meant to snap a photo, but forgot in the heat of the moment, almost literally. I was under the gun to get them finished up, foiled, in the cooler, and showered before heading over to the in-laws. They came out awesome, everybody was raving about it!

I highly recommend Thermoworks and that Billows, I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems like Thermoworks thought of everything with that Signals brain box of theirs. They've got a QR code in a short set of instructions in the box, and it brings you to a selection of videos to watch. After a short video I was off and running, no real effort to make it go. After you get the fire established, get the Signals and Billows set up, and pretty darn close to "set it, and forget it." I'm super pleased with their product, was able to monitor and control the cooking process from my smartphone. Temperature was maintained within a few degrees of the set-point, was able to make temperature change through my phone, very impressive, highly recommended.

Thank you, I’m honored indeed. You did a great job and your cooker looks fantastic!

Full disclosure: might be classic case of the blind leading the crippled <huge grin!!>; i knew nothing when I built mine. I hope yours cooks as well and are as happy as I am with mine. It sounds like you are and you’re getting great results! Congrats!
