well mother nature dealt my family and neighbors a cruel blow on weds. night about 6:30 pm. High winds torrential rain(over 6 inches in 50 minutes), lightning and hail. The smoking wood pile has almost double din size since then. My basement got flooded for a bit, and we are in the middle of clean up. We are still without regular power, but have a generator, and cable, and just today, we finally got our internet back!

.

Hopefully we'll get our regular power back sometime today or tomorrow.
So if anyone has asked me a question, I have not been on here since weds night. I'll try to get back to theose threads from that days and see whats up.

See ya! Capt. Dan.

Sorry to hear about all your trouble Dan. Just be glad you are safe.

Capt. Dan,
So glad to see you back. Hope you get squared away soon and that there is not so much damage. I can sympathize with your plight. Here in Florida, we sometimes get a little more of mother nature than we want. Good luck on your recovery!

wb capt dan, glad everyone safe and hope isnt to bigg a mess. what a spring/early summer so far up here in midwest!!!

I was wondering where you went. Sorry to hear about all the trouble but glad everyone is safe and sound.

Thanks folks, we just got our power back, and I have a couple pics.

Here is my lower yard on a narmal day

and here it is 1 hr after the storm started.

hopefully its not too dark, but that water is about 3 ft deep right there. It was gone by morning!

Basement is drying out, and about 1 more day should be back to normal around here.

Stuff likes this makes me glad to live on a hill, even though it rained so hard and heavy that my evestroughs couldn't handle the water. I can only imagine what our brothers and sisters in the flood ravaged plains and midwest states are going through now, even weeks after the floods began.

I had an empty wheelbarrow out in the middle of my back yard that I had hauled wood too the smoker in earlier in the day. 1-2 hrs of rain had it full to the rim. Its a large metal wheelbarrow and the sides are about 12 inches deep.

Dan - good to hear you're safe. Have had to deal with rough weather in my recent past (tornadoes) and understand... completely.

Hang in there, soon you'll be looking back on all of this!

Good th hear that you all seem safe. Don't mess with Mother Nature...
