I love my MES and did a great pulled pork on it no less than 8 hours ago. Had a birthday party for my kids and look what my brother pulled up with in the back of his truck. I asked him if I could have it and he said yes. Should I build it just for the heck of it and risk my wife thinking I am crazy or should I let it go. Would be an easy build no liner and it only had desil in it which would burn out easy.

P.S. I pretty much did the same thing. I had been working on my smoke shack for a while and put all the money into it and finished it and not a week later I told the wife I am going to build another one but UDS this time. She gave me a little grief but I told her it would be cheap (I underestimated the cost of buying everything since I had nothing for a UDS) so she didn't say much. Well after all the Q I have put out of the UDS she doesn't saying anything at all now. haha Best thing I ever did was make that UDS. My smoke shack is awesome but if I am not doing large amounts of meat it just doesn't make sence to use it.

I agree with Rob. Just build it. I did the same with my MES. I loved it but wanted more. I dealt with the grief and have not cooked on anything since. Poor MES

Best Q I ever made came out of my UDS...

nice, once you go, or return to charcoal you will never go back.

Well you talked me into it but its gonna be at least three weekends before I can dedicate a day to it. Maybe I can at least burn it out next weekend. I am going to try to go NFL themed with this puppy.

Tell her I told you to build it, by the time she gets half way up here to give me a piece of her mind, she will have calmed down and realize it's not that big of a deal.

I'd build it if it where me, I am half way looking for a drum now. My biggest problem would be the burn, it is illegal to do outdoor fires here

Build it. You could always tell your wife having multiple smokers is far better then having multiple women. On second thought... Skip that...
