Somewhere between 1 am and 10 am my friend lost his pulse.
Let me explain further.
I had this 6 pound butt at .99 lb all ready to go.
Drip pan with aujus and onion.
Seared it up a bit.
Got the St. Louies ready and put them on top of the butt.
At foiling time for the ribs I took the breast bone off for a snack.
Foiling.
It was good.
I rolled up the skirt and that came off also but didn't try it.
Ok on to the rest of the story.
I had set the MES at 185' and foiled the butt at 165' and ribs.
I went to bed . I checked it at about 10 am this am for pulling and found the smoker at 71'. The light was on but no heat or pulse, OHH no the dreaded connectons . I reset it 3 times and still no pulse.
I pronounced it DOA at 11 am and put it the casket for a Sam's burial.
I brought the meat in and the ribs were cool to the touch and the butt was 130'.
I pronounced the meat dead also and tossed it.
S*** happens and I was pretty sure the butt was ok, but didn't want to take any chances.
Off to Sam's for the burial ceremony.
Glad I bought a 3 year warrantee for 39 dollars.
