I have been cited by the wife.

She's actually getting after me for the amount of cookers I have. She said 8 is too many. She knows I use 4 of them for backyard level competitions so those are off of the table. Which leaves the kettles and my tailgater. I have 3 kettles and the tailgater. The tailgater is nothing more than a 55 gallon drum barrel cut in half. She said if I get ride of two, that would make her happy. I said what if I got rid of three and added a different one. She said as long as I go from 8 to 6 and she doesn't care which ones. This I can do....huahaha. Going to LA anyway in a few months. Thinking of replacing two kettles and my tailgater with the Flagship model this guy makes. http://www.chaneysgrills.com/grills_smokers.htm#xl_smokers . Right now the Weber 22's are my go to units for most things. I can easily see this thing becoming that.

But seriously, that seems weird that she has a set number of "Cookers" you can have.
Ask if she needs all those shoes [emoji]128512[/emoji]

I think she has provided you a golden opportunity. I mean I understand each smoker has a purpose but now you have to opportunity to get the one you have been eyeing up. You didn't say she gave you a price limit. Therefor by all means get rid of the three that don't get used too often and buy yourself a new toy that will make you forget about the other 3.

What she wants is for me to store the competition and family gathering cookers(4 smokers) and use only 2 for the house, camping, and tail-gating.I can live with this. Will keep a kettle and go pickup that cooker. However its not stopping me this weekend from taking an old school offset to the mountains for camping.

Sorry to say this but the choice is obvious, get rid of the wife and you can keep all of them and buy 4 more, for an even dozen.
I am actually down from 11 so I guess I was close enough at one time. I got rid of 4 gassers last year. All older Weber Genesis and Spirit

Have you heard of http://gstackspits.com ??

Since you are headed to Cali you might be able to check em out. They make some amazing things with metal!

I have been following them on Instagram and they make some amazing pits from a home cooker to a catering beast and all in between.
He is in LA but worth the stop!

While you're there pick up one of the large Santa Maria's for me and deliver it to Oklahoma lol. Those are some nice looking toys.

Looks like I will not have the money for this guy. I have to repair the roof this month and it's pricey stuff. But the wife has backed off because of it. I plan to be doing some backyard BBQ competitions next year. As long as I put the ones I am not using in storage, I am good to go fro what she said. So with that in mind.....I will be adding on another 16 inch "knock down" offset smoker this next week or two. It's an older Brinkmann but its still a Roger Davidson design called the Cimarron. It's in fine shape and the gentleman is letting me have it for 160. I will also be picking up a half drum BBQ that is ready for Junior over at gabby's grills to make a Santa Maria unit for on top.
