I've been smoking since last May or so and i've had the chance to try a lot of different meats. Here's my favorites in way of ranking (some of these are because i havent messed with beef much and i need a better smoker.)

1- Smoked Salmon (i just wish this was more of a meal instead of a snack or appetizer)

2- Pulled Pork (our last two have been money! This is also my wifes favorite)

3- Chicken Thighs (Learned about this one on this site - go SMF!)

4- Ribs (A staple for sure)

5- Full Chicken (I do like chicken!)

What's yours?

Pork loin I smoke the whole loin. Prep it just like a butt. Awesome!

2nd favorite is a tie... between turkey & brisket!

I smoke alot of fish (King Mackerel, Wahoo, and Tuna) But like you said mostly they are for appetizers while people are waiting for the main course.

Still was using my store bought smoker... but this turkey was awesome!

Smoked another turkey, a butt, and a whole pork loin (had to cut it in two so it would all fit)

Oh man, that turkey does look great BBQ Bill. No wonder its a top favorite for you.

Bacon - oh yeah!

Those are family requested tops....... I really enjoy the whole process of planning, executing and eating.........it keeps me in a smoky happy place.........

Mine would be

1, pork ribs

2. pork butt ( for pulled pork)

3. brisket

4. whole chicken

5. It sounds weird, but burgers are one of my favorite items to smoke. I got hooked on them as a kid, it was the first smoked food I ever ate. Ground beef smokes well, I think. When my kids were living at home they always asked for burgers when I fired up the smoker.

kevinnavarre, I have never heard of smoked burgers! But with the fat content and all... bet it would be great!!  BTW, you ever heard of Navarre Florida?
