I could use a little cheering up

Well I have figured out what's causing the rash. I uploaded pics of my arm to google and it matched it up with others pics and apparently I had a reaction to the surgery glue. So I can show it to my doctor on my follow up and hopefully they can get some prednisone and cream prescribed. My whole darn arm itches and I'm over it.

I tell them upfront I'm sensitive to adhesive. Only had a knee harpooned to date.
Good luck on getting the prednisone. They worry about corticosteroids inhibiting healing.
Just remind them your discomfort is inhibiting healing, too.

I picked up a 4 bone in standing rib roast today, a boneless ribeye and 2 packs of alligator tail from the butcher.

I am going to do an oven pot roast recipe later this week I've been wanting to make for quite awhile. Not sure if I'll do it on Friday or Sunday.

Careful with the prednisone. Follow the tapering off instructions or it will be an uncomfortable night. It can really help though.

That blanket is a great idea! Let us know how it works out. I’m in the middle of smoking a chuckie for chili, could probably use one.

Being as I'm half-Cajun I've had alligator a few times. To be honest, not my favorite choice in meat but I'll eat it. Didn't realize anyone even sold it here in Colorado.
Sam's Meats in Aurora has a lot of exotic meats. Yak, Rattlesnake, Bison, seafood and more.

I was eyeing a bison brisket. I forgot the price but I'm curious about smoking one.

As for the gator, I love fried gator!

And I love rattlesnake but I really don't want to kill one just to eat it, even though I've been hunting since a kid. Then again, none of them up here at 9100 feet.

I just had surgery yesterday to relieve a compressed ulnar nerve in my right elbow.

I have full mobility but no lifting anything heavy. But I am sore and kinda down right now. 😞

I feel cooped up and restless. I'm not able to smoke any meat at the moment either. Which makes it all the worse.

My Papa is here helping out and I'm very grateful he was able to come out to assist.

It'll be about 8 1/2 weeks until I go back to work. Another week or so and I'll start physical therapy. Most of which will be at home.

This girl could use a little cheering up. Post up some pics of your recent smokes and your pets please.

Thank you all.

I bought and modified this Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Suppressed just for the purpose of hunting rattlesnakes. And I still can't find them. 😭

3rd trip to the ER this morning. This time I made it clear I wasn't leaving without meds to start dealing with this. The doctor listened. I got home and go some lunch and took meds. A steroid and another med that will stop the itching and an antibiotic ointment for the yellow/crusty/oozing area. They don't want that getting infected.

I'm hoping that I am finally trending the correct way now.

Yep you have to stand your ground sometimes.
You've been scratching a bit or just the hives letting go?

After having a boneless ribeye from Sam's Meats, I don't think I'll be picking up anymore steaks from King Soopers. Holy cow, that steak was tender, fluffy, delightful, juicy and just amazing!!

Order is restored! I did ribs Sunday. Grilled a steak last night. 🙌🏻

Still on a no heavy lifting restriction until Feb 11th but that's ok. So 10 or 15 lbs is my limit.

The meds are working too! The itchiness is about 75% less and the rash is on the retreat.

Looks very good and glad to hear the itch is under control that can drive ya nuts at times

Glad your feeling better and healing up
