I am sitting here chomping at the bits to smoke something, but the freezer is full. That's what makes me sad.

What makes me happy is how many posters have raised the level of smoking here with their creative posts and recipes and thinking out of the box. They all know who I am talking about, there are too many to mention.

Thanks.

There is more to smoking than butts and ribs and briskets. And that's a good place to start. But the creativity here lately has been awsome, from a cure standpoint to Old time smoking and just trying something different.

Thank you all for thinking out out of the box and sharing.

On a side note I did find some thighs to cure and a turkey breast to do tomorrow, I'll be in a better mood tomorrow, lol.

Well I gotta tell you Ron. You have influenced and helped me soooo much on this site and have been one of the members I know I can always turn to when I need something answered or a great recipe idea so from the bottom of my heart I say Thank You.

Ok.... I'm gonna break down and be nice. There have been a lot of people on this forum that I have enjoyed watching and enjoyed showing them the things I put together. Wouldn't be near as fun without all this interaction. But..... I will say..... it's really hard for me to get it out..... but..... Ron Man was one of the very first I met on this forum... has helped me with answers to my questions and become a good friend as well as an irreplaceable source of info and inspiration.... there... I said it. And I am in agreement with Ron..... what a lot of fun this place is. What a great bunch of people. I'll miss you all when I'm gone.

PignIt, Ronp was 1st person I every PM and ask for and received help over a year ago. His enthusiastic post on the MES along with Illini's were the top support for my decision to buy a MES.

anywho keep up the good work ronp

Ron, I always look forward to reading your posts, they are always so informative...

I'll tell you what, Ron was the first man to ever get me to consider smoking a steak, and after I tried it once (it was a porterhouse way back when I was lurking and was smoking in a kettle) I became a believer! Good stuff and I appreciate his pics. To me, Ron is always the steak man!

Nothin wrong with thinkin outside the box. But, don't ferget, there is an awful lot that can be done with the basics, IE: ribs, butts, brisket an poultry. Ya can try different rubs, different woods, injections, sauces an brines.

I enjoy the traditional smokes, I do from time ta time try some new things, but I never stray to far from what I grew up with. Always good ta learn bout somthin new to.

The craft contains a wide variety a folks, what keeps it goin. It really is all bout the smoke!

This definetly a great place to learn and yes alot of yous guys and girls thinking out od the box for sure. Ron you have thought me alot specially with rib eyes and beef in general. you don't know it but you reaaly give out some great words of wisdom. then this site is just flowing over with great recipes and some just off the wall thing to try out. thanks to ron now we can all stop and take a good look at what we are a part of. This Place Is Great
