Hey Brothers of the smoke,

I found this forum because I was looking for reviews on the MES 30, after reading every thing I could on it, I decided, this is the thing to get, but I can't spend $ 300.00 bucks at the moment.

( Yes I did the roll call thing)

Well as fate as a way to work it's magic, I found this thread.

After spending countless of hours looking at the builds, innovations and creativity, I decided, I am going to build a "UDS" .

I will be picking up a 55 gal open lid drum 01/21/2012, and drill the holes for my future intakes etc....

I know you guys and gals like the pics/ progress of a build, but I am not sure on how you like it presented.

Do you all prefer it, step by step as I progress? ( it might take a while, I will be doing the build outdoors and even in Arkansas, it can get cold!)

Or just I do individual posts on the progress when I can?

Short story  long..I am holding, All you all responsible, for by new obsession. ( My bride, of 30 yrs years) says,  I don't need any more!) but I need to do this not only for myself but for the good of all mankind.

So, Brothers of the smoke, What is the best way to post the progress? As I go? or As I please?

Thank you for your response,

Al (PaPaGrizz) Nelson

I predict you will have a few more smokers in your future, have fun with your UDS build!

Which ever way you choose is good, there is no real wright or wrong way to do it.

yea, you can start a thread with the first pics of the fist step, ask and receive any advice you want then continue to update the thread.  So what if it take a little while, we will probably still be here, cheering you along!

Good luck

A while after I got into this part, a few thoughts popped into my head, like:

Should have bought a new drum, need a sandblaster, wish my kids were not grown and gone and make them do it, and maybe I need

a weed burner...
