I knew that the grow location changed. I was curious to how much it impacted the taste. It is a difference of where the jalapeños are grown. I noticed it right away. It was about a month later when I found about the change.

Lol I was eating cans of pickled Japs too.I'm back to munching SanMarcos whole pickled japs from the fridge and they are hard to beat, at least to my battle scarred tongue.
I tried all the second string versions and after a period of mourning I moved on.
Just ordered a can to stuff. Are these firm or mushy?I'm back to munching SanMarcos whole pickled japs from the fridge and they are hard to beat, at least to my battle scarred tongue.

Lol! Thanks! They are pickled, I would say they tend toward firm, some are softer, but never mushy.
Some cans are much crisper than others, I think it's a matter of how long they've been swimming.
My only experience is has been stuffing them in my face.
Thanks Chris. That was interesting to read.Steve H this is from 2020. The change actually happened in 2018.
