No hunting these guys but they do keep the neighbourhood clean of rodents and small birds. Never had them around till a few years ago. Now they are everywhere. One family in my backyard. Hard to fly my drone as they want to take it down.
Used get pissed off in the morning from the crows making a racket but these cooper hawks have them beat by 100% 🤣
No sleeping in when they live next door. One is missing, must be out getting breakfast.

Asked Ai to clean up the image and the second image is what it gave me. DJI_0006.00_00_47_36.Still001.png image.jpg

Those bastards took one of my koi out of my pond last week. Splashed down, grabbed it and flew off right in front of me.

Ya nature can be cruel for sure. We used to have tons of grey squirrels but not anymore. There might be one or two left that I have seen.

We had a hawk in our neighborhood several years ago. It once swooped in and landed in our tree outside of the kitchen window with something long dangling from its talons. My daughter, who was about 6 at the time, said, "Oh, look! It's carrying a red ribbon!"
My wife and I looked at each other, and she said, "I don't think that's a ribbon. Remember the 'Circle of Life' from The Lion King?"
"Ewwwwww!"

Had a work weekend at the hunt club. Went Thursday afternoon and just got home today. Here in SC, we can put out corn to attract the deer and the part of the state where I hunt, gun season opens Aug 15.

Anyway, me and another guy were checking stands and putting out corn. Stopped at a corn pile and I got off the cart. Grabbed a bag of corn and dumped it out. Turned around and my buddy was walking back to the cart when he yelled STOP, DON'T COME THIS WAY!!

Right beside where we stopped...

59" long with 14 rattles. Biggest I've ever seen in the woods. The thing that really gave us the shakes is we were both within a foot of this snake. Took awhile for our nerves to calm down. They don't bother me when I see them first and at a distance.

Another pic from the weekend, Copperhead...

We all know that snakes like to hang around the corn piles looking for an easy meal so be safe out there, wear snake boots, and keep your eyes open...
