Just a kansas boy here looking to learn a little bit more than I have (I've been lurking for a year or so. Haven't got a smoker yet but am in a great debate...pellet smoker ie (rec tec, gmg, blazin grill works) v. A smokin-it 3. I like the ease of the pellet for temps but like electric for simplicity. Any who looking to learn about ribs and pulled pork...and of course a bit of chicken here and there. I love this forum you guys rock.

Glad you joined us sounder1000! :welcome1: from a North Dakota member!

If your thinking a pellet grill I would suggest looking hard at the Yoder YS640; then I see you live in Kansas and that pretty much would close the deal if it was me deciding. Yoder is manufactured in Wichita and with a pickup or a trailer you could eliminate shipping. Wife and I have had one a little over a year and absolutely love it!

As far as electric we have always had Masterbuilts, next one is going to be a Smokin-It; just seems to be quite a bit more product for the same price range.

Welcome Sounder. Your first question is a tough one. 'Which smoker to buy'. Most smokers have advantages and disadvantages. Just depends on what you want to do. Read some of the smoker forums and see what appeals to you. They will all make good Q once you learn how to use it. Good luck and good smoking!
