Seems like every summer the heat and humidity it takes to wipe me out gets lower and lower. I mow the lawn as early or as late as possible. I've been splitting it in 1/2 this summer and do part one day and the rest another day. And it's *not* a big yard

Atwoods had a towell called Frogg Toggs on sale in their last flyer. A little research on the net found more positive than negative, so I figured I'd give it a try. At 8 bucks I figured I've wasted more on less in the past. Eh. I soaked in cold water before putting it around my neck or under my hat, it seemed to help for maybe 30 minutes before it had to be wet down again. I can do that with a plain old hand towel...

So, has anyone tried any of these "cooling towels" and had good success with them? I'm willing to try just about anything so I can spend more time outside.

Some day I'll get out of OK and head north. Right now I'm stuck here (wife's mother is close) and have to make the best of it.

Thanks!

I work 10 hour days outside. It's been 95 outside most days which isn't huge for most of you but for us Wyoming boys it sucks. I got a cooling towel from Menards for $2 and it really seems to help. It's a strange fabric that when dry is almost cardboard like. Couldn't tell you the name but it has a penguin on it.

To be honest, the best thing I've found is start early and don't stop. When we stop for lunch, going back is horrible, but when we've been at it for an hour I don't notice anymore.

Not much you can do here in Oklahoma. The humidity is killer when the temp gets over 90. As far as mowing goes I bought a zero turn mower so I didn't have to work as hard but I still mow/weedeat early or late.

Been noticing it myself too though lately. We have a baby due the end of August and I've been adding a master suite on to the house to make room. Lots of breaks and lots of ice water is about the only thing I can recommend. I try to eat as light at lunch as possible too. There's been a lot of chicken salad sandwiches for lunch lately.

I know how you guys feel i cant even sit on the porch or walk to the mail box with out breaking a sweat its ridiculous....
