I've been considering writing an ebook with some of my best original recipes. This actually started getting more thought since I joined this site. Taking pictures of my recent smokes has pushed me to write out more of the recipes. I need to make them and get some good pictures.

So my question. If you paid around $7.00 for a cookbook, how many recipes would you expect?

I have never bought a cookbook.  All of the ones I have were given to me by people who didn't use them.  I have turned those pages a few times for a reference over the years but lately I can find anything I want online.  Maybe for your first book make it something online or ebook if thats what they call those to download to kindles or something.  I just wonder what your competition is & what would be the motivation for someone to buy your book if you do not have the fame of others before you.  Google spits out lots of good recipes.  Good luck.

This will be a self published e-book. My main goal is to get recipes written down for my daughters, a family cookbook if you will. I've lost some of my mother's recipes and I don't want my family to have that same sense of loss. Secondary goal is to make a little money with my hobbies.

I also think that I have a unique idea for the format of the book. It may set it apart enough to give me a slight edge. I won't know until I try.

A Sewing group of Ladies just published a Cook book....and had it bound for sale.  The book has about 75 recipes in it...and they sell it for $10 and the proceeds go to Project Linus.

Kat that is a little more realistic. I think it might be doable, but I only have pictures of smoked food. Time to start cooking.
