How long can a turkey be kept in the refrigerator?

Greetings,

I bought a frozen bird before Thanksgiving with the intention of smoking that week but events conspired against me.   The bird has now been in the refrigerator sealed in its vacuum pack bag for three weeks.   Any thoughts on whether this would be a problem to smoke this weekend?

Any advice is appreciated.

I figured as much - thankfully I got it for under $1 per pound.  I will smoke something else this weekend.
