build a low fire on one end and get after it. improvise.

brinkman smokers is prolly the company name not the pit name. everything they build prolly has that tag on it. I know ours has it in the same spot except ours has the firebox
 
i didnt know how to put more than one pic on one posting. any ideas on mod for this coal baskets, special grates,and etc going to steel yard tomorrow to pick some expanable metal

Honestly, you're going to have a hard time smoking anything in that. It's doable, but it;s gonna be a lot of work.
