Pretty much the same story... Think I did a search for a rib dry rub and was directed here.
Then I found other stuff...
And more stuff....
And a chat room....
And I haven't been able to leave since.

I had just finished building my little smokehouse, minus the firebox...was googling smokehouse info and found this site.
I like the fact that backyard smokers like me are welcome....you do not have to be a competitor to join in.
And ya'll are nice.

I really don't remember. I think I just stumbled across it while surfing the web via Google. I came in while the SMF was still on Yahoo. It was OK then but with all the growth, I'd hate to think what it would be now if we were still on Yahoo. We have a wonderful group and there have been quite a few other folks over the years that don't seem to be around anymore that I'd like to hear from again.

Did a search for "smoking meat" and got linked to Jeff's site. Linked to the forum from there and have been addicted to the SMF gang, and smoking meat, ever since then!!!

i was doing a search for a recipe for a brined smoked venison roast when i run across SMF. being new to computers ad all i remember thinking what is a forum.cant see how i missed it earler but since found never really left.

I was searching for smoke house plans for a cold smoker. Just telling my wife tonight.....If I would not have stumbled into the forum we won't be smoken anything other than sausage....

I told a dutch oven buddy of mine I had just bought a smoker and had no idea what I was doing. So he told me about this site. Get here and he is no where to be found. So I asked him were he was he said he had been smoking for 30 years and just thought I could learn something here. He didn't want me calling him all hours of the night he is 81 years young and likes his sleep.

I was googling smoking sites when I stumble across this great place and now I am here daily..............I am hooked................

I was on another smoking related site, and this site was in their"links" tab, I lurked for a few days,but you had to be registered to get the Q-view, so I registered. The welcome I recieved from perfect strangers was inspirational itself. The pictures, recipes and overall friendly and helpful attitudes really got me hooked. I have been spending hrs a day here since. Now my butcher and I are on a first name basis, and he has me on speed dial for the sales!
